🔥 eXXXtra Hot Chicken Sandwich 🔥

Who said you need to drive to Popeyes or Chick-fil-a for a yummy spicy chicken sandwich? We prepared a spectacular hot chicken sandwich recipe that you can recreate at the comfort of your home!

Serves: 4 / Prep Time: 15 min / Cook Time: 20 min

Ingredients 

  1. 1 Package chicken breasts
  2. 1 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
  3. 2 tbsp and 4 tsp of salt
  4. 4 large eggs
  5. 2 cups buttermilk or whole milk
  6. ¼ cups XXX Sauce
  7. 4 cups all-purpose flour
  8. 3 tbsp cayenne pepper
  9. 2 tbsp dark brown sugar
  10. 1 tsp garlic powder
  11. 1 tsp paprika
  12. Brioche bread
  13. Sliced Pickles
  14. Coleslaw

Directions

  1. The chicken can be seasoned and chilled one day ahead.
  2. Toss chicken with black pepper and 2 tbsp. salt in a large bowl. Cover and chill for at least 3 hours.
  3. Whisk eggs, buttermilk, and KPOP XXX in a large bowl.
  4. Whisk the flour and the remaining 4 tsp. salt in another large bowl.
  5. Pat chicken dry. Working with 1 piece at a time, dredge each chicken breast in the flour mixture, shaking off excess, then dip in buttermilk mixture, letting excess drip back into bowl. Dredge again in flour mixture and place on a baking sheet.
  6. Coat the air fryer pan in oil before air frying.
  7. Air fry at 350 degrees for 10 min.
  8. After 10 min, flip the chicken and air fry for another 10 min at 280. When finished the skin should be deep golden brown and crisp.
  9. Transfer to a clean wire rack set inside a baking sheet. Let cool slightly.
  10. Place the chicken inside the brioche bread and serve with coleslaw and pickles. (for an extra kick, add more KPOP XXX)
