From keeping your guests cool with a water slide to creating the perfect photo booths for those Instagram pictures, we’ve got you covered!

1. Lawn Stars

Create these easy, DIY lawn stars with your own cardboard cutouts and some marking paint! A great way to interact with the guests and a fun activity for any children that may be at your party, these lawn stars also double down as the perfect background for any 4th of July pictures! They’re not only incredibly simple, but they also create the perfect red, white, and blue setting for Independence Day. Another great idea is to use the marking paint to create fun games (like tic tac toe) on the grass. (The paint is non-toxic, so it’ll keep your grass alive and well.)

2. DIY Dart Game and Ring Toss Game

These two easy DIY games are incredibly affordable to make and are the perfect additions to all of your 4th of July decor! For the dart game, simply buy some red, white, and blue darts, any sort of large backdrop for the balloons to hang from (preferably one you’re okay with puncturing), and some balloons. If you have any spare bottles lying around your home, put them to good use by painting them in your favorite 4th of July colors, and creating some easy, throwable rings to fit around them! And voila~ Two fun activities to keep your guests busy as you prepare delicious foods!

3. Sparklers!

Of course, there can’t be a 4th of July party without the classic sparklers! Paired with fireworks, sparklers truly create the perfect Independence Day celebration. Filling the night sky with American flags and bright lights, sparklers are a must, especially for those 4th of July pictures. We’re sure you’ll see your feed full of written words using sparklers, and if you don’t know, they always come out beautifully! Just make sure to be careful since all sparklers run quite hot!!

4. Lawn Water Slide

July definitely brings some HOT summer weather, which means there’ll be a lot of sweaty bodies. Create a cooling station with some fun water games for all ages! We recommend this lawn water slide, which includes two bodyboards and a sprinkler system to really get your guests wet and wild!

5. Photo Booth

While DIY is always fun, not everyone has the time for it! This photo prop kit makes it easy for you to create a cute photo booth section in your lawn for the guests to create happy, fun-filled memories together. For an easy backdrop, consider these metallic foil fringe curtains, which are of course, in red, white, and blue.

6. More 4th of July Decor!

If you’re really all about getting into this festive 4th of July mood, let everyone know you’re happy and celebrating with this LED waterproof flag that anyone could spot from a mile away. It’s absolutely beautiful at night and makes the perfect backdrop to any picture. For the daytime, this 4th of July set will spruce up any table, lawn, or porch. Including garlands, banners, pom poms, hanging swirl tissues, and more (yes, there’s more), this set will enhance any backyard!

7. 4th of July Bingo + LED Bean Bag Toss

4th of July parties often bring families and friends of all ages together. This cute 4th of July patriotic bingo set accommodates all guests and gives everyone an activity to do together! With some interesting prizes, the bingo game will be a fan-favorite. When it gets darker, games are usually harder to play. We recommend attaching these LED lights to your cornhole boards to spice up the decorations and give some visibility to your guests as they play. The light colors are also customizable, so it’s without question that you can have them in the classic red, white, and blue colors for this festive day. In addition, this cornhole set features 2 wooden boards and 8 bean bags (that come in red and blue!). The reason why we love these boards is because it comes free of any designs! So, take out your art supplies and let your creativity run free!

8. Giant Yard Pong

If the bean bag toss isn’t really your favorite, then try your hand with this giant yard pong set. With 12 buckets and 4 balls, this game can also accommodate all ages. However, it’s always fun to have an adults-only time, so try a giant game of beer pong with multiple people on one team. These buckets are quite large, so drink safely and responsibly of course!

9. Lights + More

As the day transitions to night and the weather gets cooler, it’s always beautiful to have backyard lights. Rather than your simple backyard lights, try these star and flag twinkle lights or even these long waterproof string lights to continue the high spirits and create a cheerful, starry atmosphere. Lights truly make all the difference when it comes to ambiance, so get them glowing! Another option are these starburst lights: their round shape, splayed out wires, and different light modes give the effect of fireworks!
