RISING KOREAN BRAND, KPOP FOODS, AND CHEF CHRIS OH OF SEOUL SAUSAGE CO., ANNOUNCE GROUNDBREAKING PARTNERSHIP

Chef Chris Oh to Take on New Role at KPOP Foods as Head of Product and Product Development

LOS ANGELES August 14, 2018 – Today, KPOP Foods, a new brand helping Americans discover and enjoy Korean food and flavors, announces its partnership with Chef Chris Oh, founder of Seoul Sausage Co., managing partner of Escala, owner of Chingu and the winner of multiple TV competition shows. Oh joins the KPOP Foods team today as Head of Product and Product Development which will help guide the brand as the portfolio continues to grow under the KPOP Foods umbrella.

“I am truly excited to work with KPOP Foods to continually take Korean flavors to the forefront and put KPOP products in every pantry across the nation,” said Oh. “Their vision of creating a community where people can discover and enjoy the uniqueness of Korean food and flavors, aligns perfectly with my career goal of bridging previously unrelated markets with new culinary traditions.”

Oh’s unique culinary style and bold personality set him apart from his competitors on shows such as Food Network’s “The Great Food Truck Race,” “Cutthroat Kitchen,” and Esquire’s “Knife Fight.” He went on to win all three shows and later opened Seoul Sausage Co. in 2010.

Theo Lee and Mike Kim, the co-founders of KPOP Foods, first learned about Oh through the Food network and followed his career journey through social media. The two saw the opportunity to bring someone who had a strong background and network in food onto the KPOP Foods team. “We always acknowledged that knowing Korean flavors and creating Korean flavors were two separate things,” Kim said. “Korean food is still inaccessible to many people across America, but with Oh now on board, KPOP Foods hopes to expand its reach.”

"Oh’s ability to defy the standards of the food industry showcases him as the ideal partner for KPOP Foods,” said Lee. “His positive energy, culinary expertise, and business acumen helps KPOP Foods take a giant leap in becoming the premier Korean Food brand of America."

Recently, the vibrant food brand went live on SeedInvest, a leading equity crowdfunding platform, and has already raised over $110,000. “This partnership with SeedInvest will help us become the household name brand that consumers can trust for the best Korean food and flavors,” Lee said. View the campaign here.
