Kimchi & Gochujang Deviled Eggs
Deviled eggs are such a fantastic dish because they are easy make, look beautiful, and taste even better! They’re great for when you’re hosting parties and want to impress your family and friends. Classic deviled eggs use sliced hard boiled eggs as your blank canvas. The yolk is removed and whipped with mayonnaise and/or mustard to create a fluffy and creamy mixture that is placed back into the sliced eggs.
“In the 18th century, the term ‘deviled’, in reference to food, was used most often with spicy or zesty food.” - History.com
Once we heard the words “spicy” and “zesty”, we immediately started formulating our own KPOP Kimchi Deviled Eggs recipe because no one does spicy and zesty better than us. After hours in the kitchen and many (very happy) taste-testers, this creamy and tangy deviled eggs recipe is already one of our season favorites.
We begin with sliced hard boiled eggs, but instead of using mayonnaise or mustard, we mix KPOP Kimchi Mayo Sauce and sour cream. Mixed with creamy egg yolk, topped with just a dab of our extra hot KPOP XXX Gochujang Sauce, and sprinkled with some crumbled seaweed and green onions, every bite is a unique and perfect balance of flavors, textures, and heat. The savory, tangy, and complex flavors of kimchi and gochujang (fermented Korean chili paste) blend perfectly with the egg yolk. The crumbled seaweed and green onion top it off adding just the right amount of crunch and salt. Don’t be afraid to double or triple this recipe because everyone at your dinner party is going to love these.
